Robert Hoe, business man and art collector, amassed a very fine collection of Chinese porcelain. He also collected paintings, watches, silver, books and manuscripts, among other things. The sale of his collection in 1911, after his death in 1909, brought in around $41,575 for approximately 240 porcelains. The whole sale took in around $129,195.00.
